Taj Michael

One day past my due date, we took the trip to my last doctor appointment.  Because of all the ice on the roads, people were driving like maniacs. As soon as we got on the freeway we could see why schools had been canceled. There were so many cars stuck or flipped on the side of the roads. It took us an hour to make a trip that normally takes 20 mins on a bad traffic day. Once at the office, the nurse told us that our doctor was m.i.a. and they were all worried. On the way back, Dr. Tate called and scheduled to have me induced on Tuesday. I was so not happy with the idea of being induced again. Lucky for me, my water broke on its own and the experience was very different this time.

11:45 pm - water brakes
1:08 am - we get back on the icy roads to the hospital

1:48 am - all checked in and ready to go (no contractions, all is well)
3:15 am - contractions finally start and labor process begins

Travis was so tired poor guy. He fell asleep on the couch while we waited for everything to pick up. Around 5:30 ish the pain was getting intense. Since I was somewhat alone, I played my favorite groove list and R&B ed my way to delivery while bouncing on the birthing ball.

6 ish am- Travis wakes up and helps me get in the bath tub. The warm water felt oh so good
20 mins later the doctor is called in, I'm ready.
